Admission Open at the Almaty Branch of Anhalt International University in Kazakhstan

The Almaty branch of Anhalt International University, located on the campus of Energo University, has officially announced the start of admissions for its bachelor’s degree programs. A total of 100 government grants are available for applicants who successfully pass the competitive selection.

The Anhalt International University (AIU) branch in Almaty is accepting students into two in-demand fields:

  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering and Information Technology

These programs were developed in line with current labor market needs. Graduates who successfully complete their studies will receive two diplomas — a German and a Kazakh diploma, significantly enhancing their career prospects both locally and internationally.

The campus facilities meet modern international standards. Classrooms and research laboratories are equipped with advanced technologies, enabling students to conduct laboratory and practical work in electronics, biomedicine, and IT.

President of Anhalt International University, Prof. Jörg Bagdahn, emphasized that the launch of admissions at AIU marks an important milestone in the development of engineering education in Kazakhstan:
“This is a major opportunity for young people in Kazakhstan. Without leaving the country, students can earn a diploma from one of Germany’s leading universities and receive high-quality engineering education,” he noted.

The educational process is based on certified European curricula. Courses are taught by qualified professors and researchers invited from Germany. The bachelor’s program also includes German language instruction.

Rector of Energo University, Gani Nygymetov, highlighted the strategic importance of this partnership:
“We are creating an educational platform that offers students access to Europe’s best engineering practices while staying in Kazakhstan,” he said.

The branch of one of Germany’s leading universities of applied sciences was opened with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Consulate General of Germany in Kazakhstan.
