President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s directive, branches of leading international universities are opening across Kazakhstan
In accordance with the directive of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kazakhstan continues to expand the presence of leading international universities in the country. Among the newly established international education centers is the Anhalt University (Germany) branch in Almaty, as well as branches of other foreign universities in the cities of Astana, Shymkent, Turkistan, and Kostanay.
The opening of these new branches aims to broaden opportunities for Kazakhstani students and ensure access to high-quality international education. President Tokayev previously emphasized that attracting foreign universities is an important step toward training competitive specialists and developing the country’s human capital.
The Ministry of Science and Higher Education notes that international cooperation in the higher education sector is rapidly expanding. Bringing leading global universities to Kazakhstan strengthens academic mobility, improves the quality of training, and supports the country’s development as a major educational hub in Central Asia.
Currently, 23 branches of foreign universities are already operating in Kazakhstan, and this number will continue to grow in the coming years.
